If your office computer takes minutes to start, freezes when you switch between Tally, Excel and the browser, or makes a constant whirring sound, the processor is usually not the problem. In most ageing desktops, the bottleneck is the mechanical hard drive.
Why hard drives slow down
A traditional hard disk reads data from spinning platters with a moving head. Over three to four years of daily use, the mechanism wears, read speeds degrade and files become scattered across the disk. Every program launch and every Windows update then waits on a drive that cannot keep up — and a failing drive also puts your data at risk.
What an SSD changes
A solid-state drive has no moving parts, so it reads and writes data many times faster. Replacing the hard disk with an SSD can make a desktop boot and multitask up to 10x faster, without changing anything else.
- NVMe M.2 SSDs plug directly into a slot on the motherboard and are the fastest option — ideal for designers and accounting firms working with large files.
- SATA SSDs fit older computers without an M.2 slot and still give a dramatic improvement over a hard disk.
Keeping your files and software
You do not need to reinstall Windows or set up your software again. We clone your existing drive onto the new SSD, so your programs, Tally data, documents and browser bookmarks stay exactly where they were — they simply open faster.
Check the rest of the system too
An upgrade is a good time for a full check-up: testing the SMPS power supply, checking RAM for faults, cleaning the heatsink and renewing thermal paste. Together these fix many of the freezes and random restarts that make an older PC frustrating to use.
Our SSD upgrades use branded drives with a 3-year manufacturer warranty, at our Wright Town workshop or at your office anywhere in Jabalpur.
